This high protein cottage cheese cookie dough is the perfect zero sugar dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth while on your weight loss journey.
It’s that time of year when desserts are everywhere. I’m currently working toward my own postpartum weight loss goal, so seeing all of these seasonal treats can be a bit tempting. This is why having an arsenal of zero sugar desserts is crucial for long term success and preventing the feeling of deprivation.
And because I was craving cookie dough the other day, I decided to make my own zero sugar, high protein edible cookie dough that can be enjoyed while on a weight loss journey.
And the end result is incredible.

Tips From The Nutritionist
Autumn Bates, CCN, MS, BS, CPT
My edible chocolate chip cookie dough recipe contains a whopping 17 grams of complete protein per serving, less than 5 grams net carbs per serving and zero added sugar.
This recipe uses full fat cottage cheese, almond flour and my zero sugar protein powder as the base. It also opts for zero sugar chocolate chips to help keep it in line with weight loss and wellness goals. The hint of sweetness comes from my zero sugar Vanilla Protein Powder which uses monk fruit extract (zero sugar alcohols or stevia here!) and helps contribute to the 17 grams of protein in this recipe.
And don’t be tempted to go for the low fat cottage cheese because it’s “lower calorie”. Studies have actually found that full fat dairy products are inversely associated with obesity.(1) This means full fat dairy products are actually better for weight loss goals than low fat alternatives.(2)
