12 Women Over 50 Tried Intermittent Fasting. Here’s What Happened.

These aren’t theories or general tips. This is exactly what happened to 12 women over 50 who tried Intermittent Fasting (the right way).

There are a lot of people online sharing their theories on the best way to use Intermittent Fasting for women over 50 to lose weight. But at the end of the day, none of that really matters unless it actually works in real life. 

So today, I want to share 12 REAL women that I interviewed in my community over the age of 50 who used Intermittent Fasting and experienced incredible weight loss and wellness transformations. My goal is not only to inspire you and show you what’s possible, but also to help uncover what actually works from women who have truly been there and done it.

Dione

Dione was post-menopausal and struggled with weight loss ever since having her first baby in 1988. She tried every fad diet, including weight watchers and even GLP-1 injections.  But nothing was sustainable or satisfying. 

And she just honestly got fed up. 

As Dione shared with me on my blog: “I’m tired of tracking everything I eat and drink. I’m tired of feeling blah. I’m tired of my clothes fitting tight. I’m tired of being tired.” 

Then she stumbled across one of my youtube videos in October 2022 and decided to take the plunge with Intermittent Fasting in January of 2024. And in just one month Dione was able to lose 12 pounds!  Better yet, her husband did it with her and ALSO lost about 13 pounds.

When I asked her if she had anything else to share, she said “Just that I have been telling everyone! I feel like it is a best kept secret.”

                    Guylaine

                    Intermittent Fasting wasn’t Guylaine’s first weight loss journey. Like many women in their 50s, Guyaline had tried a lot of tools that usually just relied on eating less and counting calories. What’s different, is this is the first time she felt like things finally stuck.

                    She has been following Intermittent Fasting paired with protein, fat, and fiber rich meals for over 2 years now, which has lead her to lose 60 pounds.

                    Dawn is both a mother and a grandmother at 52. But at age 23, she was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis that limited her ability to do a lot of things she loved. The consistent pain was then followed by insomnia and depression.

                    Carolyn

                    Carolyn was a diabetic and came from a family of diabetics. She was told by her doctor that she would never be able to get off her medications.  But after making simple, satiating and sustainable changes to her diet paired with 16/8 Intermittent Fasting, she was able to bring her A1c down to 5.4 and was told to get off all of her insulin medications by her doctor! 

                    When I asked her what her biggest wellness win had been with Intermittent fasting she said: Going off of insulin. Having my endocrinologist tell me that my A1C was 5.4 which means that after 12 years of being a diabetic, I’m not even a pre-diabetic now.

                    Lisa

                    Lisa is 66 years old and struggled with weight ever since her hysterectomy at age 40.  She also had odd food allergies that suddenly popped up the last ten years to gluten and dairy. And doctors had no idea how to help her constant bloating. 

                    A family member recommended she check out my blog for information on intermittent fasting. She started her journey on August 5th 2024.  She followed the 7 Day Detox, then the Intermittent Fasting program and by mid Septmeber she was down 12 pounds. Which according to her “this was a first in many years”. By thanksgiving, she had reached her goal weight and lost nearly 25 pounds. But the best part?                                     Jeannette felt like she hit her rock bottom when she turned 55. She had zero energy and feelings of sadness and depression started to sneak in. She also felt like the additional weight was just too much for her body to handle.
