My Healthy Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate Recipe šŸŽƒšŸ« [ZERO Sugar!!]

zero sugar healthy pumpkin spice hot chocolate recipe

Last year I shared my original zero sugar, high protein hot chocolate recipe. It's one of my *favorite* recipes that I've ever shared because it contains ZERO grams of added sugar and up to 18 grams of complete protein, making it an amazing dessert option while on a weight loss or wellness journey.

In the spirit of fall, I've decided to take my original hot chocolate recipe and spice it up šŸ˜‰

Today, I'm sharing my Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate recipe!

This recipe has zero grams of added sugar and as high as 18 grams of complete protein (if you use whole milk as the base). If you opt for the unsweetened almond milk or coconut milk, you still get a whopping 10 grams of complete protein per serving.

The sweetness in this healthy hot chocolate recipe comes from the zero sugar sweetener used in Autumn's Protein Powder ~ monk fruit extract. Monk fruit is my zero sugar sweetener of choice because it adds a hint of sweetness without the weird after taste that stevia can cause and without the bloating that sugar alcohols can cause.

I love sipping on this as a zero sugar dessert during my own postpartum weight loss journey and I know you'll love it, too!

Enjoy!

Pumpkin Spice Protein Hot Chocolate

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 scoop Autumn's Chocolate Protein Powder

  • 1 cup milk of choice (whole milk, unsweetened almond milk or unsweetened coconut milk)

  • 1 tsp. unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1/4 tsp. pumpkin pie spice

  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

  • optional homemade zero sugar whipped cream (HERE is my recipe)

1. Add all ingredients (except for the whipped cream) in a small pot over medium-low heat. Whisk to combine.

Note: Make sure to not allow the milk to get too hot, as milk products can curdle at higher temperatures. If your stove top heats quickly or runs on the warm side, keep the temperature at the low setting.

2. Heat for 2-3 minutes, whisking occasionally, until your protein powder and cocoa are entirely dissolved and the hot chocolate is warm.

3. Optional to serve with a small dollop of homemade zero sugar whipped cream.
