But before the Challenge, we're still right in the middle of the holiday season.


Just because we're in FULL SWING with the holidays, it doesn't mean that you can't enjoy a sweet treat without it working against your goals. In fact, it's my mission in life to create epic, delicious meals that taste great and support weight loss and wellness goals.


And that includes the occasional sweet treat!


When creating these types of sweet treats, I look to balance a few factors:

  1. the right type of sweetener,

  2. the right type of base (i.e. not rich in refined flours that spike insulin),

  3. and enough protein and/or fat to help prevent further cravings

Today, I'm sharing some of my favorite sweet treat recipes that follow these guidelines that you can cozy up with this holiday season.

Zero Sugar Hot Chocolate

My zero sugar hot chocolate recipe uses my zero sugar Chocolate Protein Powder to provide a punch of flavor and a hint of natural sweetness that will make you completely forget about the sugar packed hot chocolate alternatives! Seriously, whip this one up... it's my new favorite treat that I don't even need to consider a "treat". Zero sugar, 18 grams of protein and tastes like the REAL. DEAL. This is what I'll be making for myself on Christmas Eve!

Healthy Holiday Pumpkin Pie

I love this recipe because it swaps out so many of the problematic ingredients for those that will be more in line with your wellness goals. It's grain-free, low in sugar and packed with flavor. Top it with some of my zero sugar whipped cream for some extra holiday cheer.

Vanilla Bean Protein Waffles

Unlike the old-school high sugar, high refined flour waffle that I think we all had back in the day, this recipe is loaded with protein to help keep you satisfied and support a weight loss and wellness goal.
