How This Mom of Two Got Her Kids Excited About Nutrition [Without It Being A Battle]


Hannah is a busy speech-language pathologist, a mom of two, and a wife with two dogs.


She and her husband also do some pretty epic halloween photo shoots! (see picture below).


But what really caught my eye about Hannah is how she integrated her whole family into her wellness journey.


She rediscovered the joy around healthy, satiating foods and got her two kids to get excited about the journey as well.


As a new mom myself, reading Hannah's story and experience was incredibly inspiring.


And after meeting with hundreds of moms one-on-one, I know that getting the family involved (and excited) is an absolute dream!


So today I'm sharing Hannah's experience to help inspire you and your family to fall in love with foods that make you feel great

Our Family’s 21-Day Intermittent Fasting Adventure


This fall, we took on the 21-day intermittent fasting challenge with a mission: bring it back to the basics with Intermittent Fasting and PFF (protein, fat, fiber) meals. Even with all the fall temptations rolling in—pumpkin everything, holiday treats—we stayed focused on fueling our bodies with the right kinds of foods. It wasn’t just about fasting; it was about choosing foods that made us feel our best (even if they didn’t come in Halloween wrappers).

I didn’t expect my two kids would want to join, but they quickly got on board. Before long, they were discovering how fun it was to pick out their own PFF foods, especially when they “adopted” avocado as their go-to healthy fat. One night, I caught them proudly explaining their meal choices to each other, like little nutrition pros!


One of my favorite parts of the challenge was rediscovering foods I hadn’t thought twice about before, like cottage cheese. I’d always thought it was just for salads, but now it’s practically a family favorite (though I have to guard my plate from little hands!).

This challenge taught us that it’s not about depriving ourselves; it’s about finding balance and making choices that truly support our health and goals—even when the holidays try to steer us off track. And I’m walking away from these three weeks not only with new foods to love but with a sense of accomplishment for all of us. Here’s to a healthier, happier fall and a few more plates of cottage cheese!
