How Kat REVERSED Her GERD and Balanced Her Hormones!!

Kat has been such a pioneer in her own health journey ~ I have seen her get stronger, healthier, and more confident everyday! Last weekend I noticed that she posted this Instagram Story and it made break down into happy tears:

Tell me about yourself!

My name is Cathrina but most people either call me Kat or Kitty. I'm a 32 year old youth minister (2.5 weeks from turning 33!), originally from Long Beach, CA but I moved to Prescott Valley, AZ ten years ago following a call to work with youth. I've struggled with my weight most of my life and even though it was never a real big self-confidence issue for me, due to my parents being very supportive and teaching me to love everything about myself from a young age, it became a major health issue for me about two years ago when I was diagnosed with GERD. It was a real wake up call for me because both of my parents had their gall-bladders removed and suffered from acid reflux most of their lives but it wasn't really a big deal for me until the doctor told me I was heading that way as well.

In April of this year, I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and was put on another medication. It didn't really hit home until this June though how badly things were getting. Where I had once been on top of my health and nutrition and had gotten down to 201 pounds, I had put on a drastic amount of weight due to depression. I had never experienced depression before and my depression was due to losing family members every month since the beginning of January this year. My uncle's death had hit me the hardest because I grew up with him living in the duplex right next door to my family. My father had commented on my weight and when I saw a picture of myself of where I had been and where I was at that point, it made my head reel.

I began my first round of your IF program the Tuesday after I had returned from my Great Aunt's funeral and immediately began to notice so many differences about me and my overall health! In just that first round, I lost 11.5 pounds, my slight insomnia issues were a thing of the past. I no longer felt bloated, I was no longer suffering from acid reflux, and I was no longer feeling exhausted. Instead, I was feeling invigorated and determined each day, I was growing stronger, and felt so much leaner!


What was your main goal with the 21 Day Intermittent Fasting Program?

My What If goal was to eventually have my GERD under control to the point where I could be taken off of my medication. To work on losing the weight needed to achieve that goal, and to become a healthier, better version of the person I already was.


Did you have any hesitations before starting?

My only hesitation was that it might not work for me due to my health issues, but after contacting you and learning a bit more about it, that hesitation was quickly replaced with determination.


What were the biggest changes you experienced during the 21 Day Intermittent Fasting Program?

In total, I've lost 16 pounds during my two rounds of Intermittent Fasting. I'm sleeping so much better than I have in the last two years, I'm so much more energized, I'm growing stronger, and I'm no longer suffering from acid reflux!



What was your favorite meal?!

I think my all time favorite meal from the IF Program (aside from the Keto Coffee!) was probably the Cauliflower Rice Veggie Stir Fry. It was so simple to make but so filling and delicious!


Did you have a Nutrition Nerd moment while reading the Program? (or is that just me?!)

I loved reading everything about Intermittent Fasting! It all just made so much sense and I loved that you included so much detail about healing with food because who doesn't love food?! I also really enjoyed your Intermittent Fasting 101 video and the multiple blogs you posted throughout the challenge. For example, your article on Negative Ions was an eyeopener because I already loved going outside every day while at work to take a break, kick off my shoes, stand in the grass, and just enjoy the wind and the sun! Now I know the benefits behind taking those 10 minutes to ground myself.


Is there anything else you want to share about yourself or your experience?I just really want to thank you Autumn for all of the wonderful work you did on this program and for being so supportive. It meant so much to me that you took the time to actually comment on my posts and my stories, and were there for me during this journey. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I am so excited to continue on this journey to becoming a better, healthier version of the person I already am. :)
