Even though this photo uses romaine lettuce for the lettuce bun, I wouldn't recommend that anymore. I now only use iceberg lettuce for the lettuce bun.


Iceberg lettuce is crunchy and doesn't get wilted when you add toppings like ketchup, grilled onions or mustard.


Here are my top lettuce bun burger tips:

  • Use at least 1/3 pound raw ground meat to form your patty. That way you get at least 30 grams protein per serving.

  • Opt for unsweetened ketchup, like Primal Kitchens.

  • Load up on toppings like avocado, onions, mustard, tomatoes, pickles and a slice of cheese.

For our Low Carb Shepherd's Pie, we swapped out the potato for mashed, cheesy cauliflower.


It's a super cozy and flavorful way to use up your ground beef.

Mini Meatloaf

You can turn any standard meatloaf recipe into a faster and easier mini meatloaf.


We like to swap out the bread crumbs for half the amount of almond flour. This makes the meatloaf easier to form into "mini meatloaves".


From there, form four mini meatloaves for every one pound of ground beef and place it on a baking sheet along with brussels sprouts coated in olive oil and salt.


Roast it in an oven at 400 degrees for about 25 minutes and enjoy!


Sweet Potato Kale Soup

Most sweet potato kale soups are made with sausage, which isn't very high in protein.


We swapped out the sausage for ground beef to bring up the protein to 49 grams per serving.


To get the same flavor that sausage usually provides, we use seasonings like red chili flakes, garlic powder and dried basil.
