In my community, we love using chia seeds as a simple ingredient to help naturally boost satiety and achieve a weight loss goal. But these little seeds can be a bit daunting if you don't know how to use them.
So today, I'm sharing three easy ways (and recipes!) to use chia seeds to help you achieve your weight loss goals.
Benefits of Chia Seeds For Weight Loss
First of all, why even bother with chia seeds? Chia seeds are naturally rich in fiber and anti-inflammatory omega-3 fats. Just 2 tablespoons of chia seeds has about 7 grams of fiber and 3.5 grams of omega-3 fats. It also contains zero sugar and less than 2 net grams of carbs which means that it won't greatly spike the storing hormone insulin. Incorporating foods that don't greatly spike insulin (like chia seeds) helps to balance blood sugar levels and make it easier for the body to shift back into a state of fat burning faster ~ aka metabolic flexibility.

Chia Pudding
A basic chia pudding uses chia seeds with some type of nut milk. And although this is technically chia pudding, if you stop there, you won't love the taste and you won't feel satisfied for very long. When making a great chia pudding, I recommend adding in some type of additional protein (such as greek yogurt or a high quality zero sugar protein powder) as well as some low sugar fruit like strawberries. These simple additions up the flavor and satiety potential of your meal.

Protein Smoothie With Chia Seeds
If you do a quick scroll through my blog and YouTube channel, you'll find that I have a lot of smoothie recipes. This is because a well made smoothie that's rich in protein, fat and fiber is perfect for any schedule, tastes great and is an easy way to sneak in chia seeds. The key is to make sure you're sticking with low sugar fruits and always adding high quality protein to help stabilize blood sugar levels and prevent cravings.

Grain-Free Oatmeal
Grain-free oatmeal is a great alternative to traditional oatmeal. It cooks up quickly and has a texture very similar to regular oatmeal but without the huge insulin and blood sugar spike from oats. I use a combination of chia seeds, flax seeds, hemp seeds and almond flour to get the perfect texture with my grain-free oatmeal recipes.
