5 Keto Coffee Drinks You Can Have While Fasting

These are five tasty and easy keto coffee drinks you can sip on during your Intermittent Fast. Includes chai, coffee and matcha!

You’ve probably heard of Keto Coffee by now, but maybe the concept of adding butter or cacao butter to your coffee has seemed too odd to test it out. Or perhaps you don’t see how it’s possible that it can be useful while you are fasting. It’s a food! Shouldn’t it break your fast?!

Intermittent Fasting is an incredible tool to tap into fat burning mechanisms and achieve your weight loss and wellness goal. Insulin is our “storing” hormone, so when it is high, fat burning is shut off. One of the perks of Intermittent Fasting is the studied improved insulin sensitivity and fasting insulin levels. One of the main goals with the Complete Intermittent Fasting Bundle protocols is to further aid in improving the insulin response in order to tap into fat burning mechanisms efficiently.

Carbohydrates are the main driving force for increasing insulin. As you eat carbohydrates, these are broken down into glucose in the body which stimulates insulin to be released. Because Keto coffee contains zero carbohydrates, it won’t drive insulin up.

Now that you know why Keto Coffee is so epically incredible… how can you make it?!

Today, I’m sharing 5 different versions of Keto Coffee (or tea!) that will help you achieve your wellness goals!

The Classic Keto Coffee

This is my go-to Keto Coffee option that I have EVERY. DAY. I’ll even make it while I travel (by using THIS technique). This is typically the option you’ll see AENpeeps Keto Coffee cheers-ing with. Because Keto Coffee doesn’t contain any carbohydrates that will cause an insulin response, it’s also perfect to have during your fasted period while following the Complete Intermittent Fasting Bundle protocols.

Keto Chai Tea Latte

This is for all my tea lovers out there! Although I’m obsessed with coffee, tea can also make a rather frothy and delicious alternative. And just like with the OG Keto Coffee, it doesn’t contain carbohydrates that cause a spike in insulin.

Combine the following ingredients in a blender and blend on medium/high until frothy!

Ingredients:

  • 12-16 oz. brewed black tea
  • 1/2 Tbsp. grass-fed butter (or less depending on your preferences – you can also use cacao butter for a vegan alternative)
  • 1/2 Tbsp. unrefined coconut oil (or less depending on your preferences)
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/8 tsp. ground cardamom
  • 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
a cup of black coffee with heavy cream

White Filtah

I love the simplicity of this Keto Coffee – taking it to the basics of coffee and high quality grass-fed heavy whipping cream. I typically use this option if I’m traveling and can’t take the ingredients to make my OG Keto Coffee recipe. The reason why this is called a “White Filtah” is because the recipe was inspired by my trips to London and ordering a black coffee with a splash of half and half. The drink is called a “white filter” but I like the spin with the British accent instead 😉

To make this recipe, simply add 1 Tbsp. grass-fed heavy whipping cream OR grass-fed half and half to 12-16 oz. of your mold-free, organic coffee. This amount of heavy whipping cream is low enough in lactose (milk sugar) that it shouldn’t have an insulin response.

Keto Matcha Latte

I thought I hated matcha until I made this recipe. No joke, I tried regular matcha lattes at coffee shops MULTIPLE times and couldn’t drink it. But then I tested out this sugar-free alternative and I ACTUALLY like it! Plus, it follows the same principles as the OG Keto Coffee so you can use it during your fasting period!

Combine the following ingredients in a blender and blend on medium/high until frothy!

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz. hot water (be careful while pouring a blending this!)
  • 1 tsp. organic matcha powder
  • 1/2 Tbsp. grass-fed butter or cacao butter for a vegan alternative (or less depending on your preferences)
  • 1/2 Tbsp. unrefined coconut oil (or less depending on your preferences)

Keto Dirty Chai Latte

When I was in high school, this was my favorite drink. Coffee was a little too bitter for my tastebuds at that age, so I opted for the highly sugary Chai Latte at Starbucks (coming in at a whopping 42g of sugar per 16 oz./grande serving. yikes.). Now that I understand the massively negative side effects of sugar on heart disease risk and weight gain, I opt for this much tastier and satisfying alternative.

Combine the following ingredients in a blender and blend on medium/high until frothy!

Ingredients:

  • 5 oz. brewed organic black tea
  • 5 oz. brewed mold-free organic coffee (add to your coffee grounds the following spice mixture: 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon, 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg, 1/8 tsp. ground cloves, 1/8 tsp. ground cardamom, 1/8 tsp. ground ginger – watch the video for further details!)
  • 1/2 Tbsp. grass-fed butter or cacao butter for a vegan alternative (or less depending on your preferences)
  • 1/2 Tbsp. unrefined organic coconut oil (or less depending on your preferences)
  • pinch of sea salt
